After making invoice can i change or update GL ? As by mistakenly I have selected other GL in my foreign company database..

Or is there any way we can make changes through any query or through backend ??

Hello Malay,

Hope you're doing well!

Once an invoice has been posted and journal entry has been created in the system, you cannot edit the G/L account in the line item. However, you can cancel the invoice document and reopen the base document which will then generate a cancellation journal entry as well. Later, when the base document is re-opened, you can recreate the invoice with right G/L Account.

Please make sure that you have enable the option to reopen the base document upon cancellation in the settings.

Hope this would be helpful.

Kuldeep sir,

Thanks for your prompt answer.

I have created direct invoice document instead of taken data from any other documents like SO or PO. So in that case is any other possibility ??

Hello Malay,

If you have created the invoice without any base document, still you can follow the same steps:

1) Cancel the current invoice (with wrong GL Account)

2) Create the new invoice with correct GL Account.

Also, before adding the document please preview the journal entry to make sure accounting posting is correct.

Hi,

There are only a few fields in documents which can be changed after these are posted in the system. A posting creates a Journal Entry which is legally binding is not editable.

Changing or updating the G/L Account or details which are not available for editing is not supported and doing it can lead to inconsistencies in the database.

Better you go with the workaround of creating a cancellation document and post the same again with the required details.
