I'm facing an issue with accessing Excel from a SAP Fiori web environment. While executing a program that utilizes OLE2 in SAP GUI, everything runs smoothly. However, when attempting to run the same program in Fiori, it fails due to lack of access permissions to Excel from the web interface.
It seems that the security restrictions in a web environment like Fiori prevent direct interactions with external applications like Excel via OLE2. As a result, users are unable to utilize Excel functionalities within Fiori.
What are the best practices or workarounds for enabling access to Excel from Fiori? Is there a way to overcome these permission restrictions or are there alternative methods to achieve similar functionalities within a web environment like Fiori?
I appreciate any insights or recommendations on how to address this issue effectively. Thank you.
Read some OSS notes such as 3211080 - Excel (In Existing XXL Format) option is not available in Fiori
(Basically 'Office Integration is based on OLE Automation technology only available on Microsoft Windows and not available in Fiori environment.')
