'External, which is used to reference a master data type from an external source. The master data type must be updated from a near real-time integration to an SAP HANA database. This enables a live ERP update of master data and no need for update jobs on this specific master data type.'
Hi Gurus,
Kindly any one of you explain this a bit more. How does it work actually. Does the external master data type directly refers to HANA database or any other source for the data and doesnot require HCI. Is it SDI.
If the data is updated in IBP Excel add in master data, doesit get updated in the Hana data base as well.
Hi,
You can refer to below documentation pages to read more about the External Master Data Types. As mentioned, they are used for Order-based planning, rather than time series planning, in IBP for Response Management, and uses SDI Integration, rather than HCI (CPI) integration:

Ivan

EXTERNAL MASTER DATA is used in IBP response. Yes this uses SDI integration to get data from S4/ECC to IBP and IBP to S4
Please more documentation on IBP response functionality. This is not used for IBP time series
