SAP EPD Connectivity to SAP ECC

Hi Team,

As I understand from the SAP EPD Admin guide (https://help.sap.com/docs/PLM_EPD/1bfdb8b2f0264b66a818a2a889ee8c31/50612c5c3f674295b2eaee2ae09f2c70.html) it provides function for Connecting to SAP S/4HANA On-Premise. But if the customers who are working on SAP ECC currently and want to get benefits from SAP EPD, how will it work? Does SAP EPD provides standard connectors to push/pull standard business object data (eg. Asset Master (EQUIP, FLOC etc)) directly from ECC to EPD and viceversa?

Hi Tilak,

SAP EPD applications can connect to SAP S/4 HANA and ECC APIs. For S/4 HANA Cloud it is via Communication Scenarios and for OnPremise it is via standard Cloud connectors. The business object data exchange is intended to enable certain scenarios in BTP and is not for data migration. Therefore only objects relevant for such scenarios have been enabled, eg: Product, BOM, Documents, etc. EAM relevant objects are not yet in the list.
