the MSDS maker requires the default.mdb containing all phrase sets and assigned phrases from the EHS System. The default.mdb can be created with the Expert Rule Editor when it is connected to the SAP system.
How do I connect the Rule Editor to the SAP System?
The Rule editor is installed on my customers' front end laptop. When I open the Rule editor I cannot get past the EH&S login window, as the destination needs to be configured in the saprfc.ini (attachment-1.png)
Thank you in advance
Hoang Duc
Hi Hoang,
Yes, you have to connect the rule editor on your front end with the SAP system. The location of SAPRFC.INI in your screenshot is correct.
The name of the system is the name you are using in the GUI to log on. Let's suppose your system is called EHD, client 100, and the application server has the address EHD001.sapsystem.abc.com. Then the entries in saprfc.ini should be:
/*entry for EHD(100)
DEST=EHD
TYPE=A
ASHOST=EHD001.sapsystem.abc.com
GWSERV=sapgw00
SYSNR=00
Best,
Ralph

PS: if you look to the future: check may be: https://blogs.sap.com/2017/04/09/expert-server-s4-hana-future/
Step 1: check IMG of SAP
Step 2: there is an OSS Note for "Expert Server" (how to download etc.)
Step 3: chekc the many similar threads here
Your topic (if i remember correct) was not discussed in 2021. But there are many old similar treads existing
