SuccessFactors Variable Pay Query

The client has Target Bonus calculation as

Current PLR/365*No of Days

No of Days is their method of proration which is calculated as

End Date - Start Date + 1 - LOP (Loss of Pay)

Start date is further decided based on employee's date of joining. LOP is a field supposed to be fetched from EC Time Off. I believe we can set Basis to be custom formula, however I am stuck as to how to define No of Days. Since it must be in background element to be used in custom formula, I am struggling to create the field in EC and associate the No of days logic to it.

Can anybody suggest how I can achieve this or any easier alternative way to set Basis amount which matches the logic?

Hi, Pooja. It looks like you're using SAP SuccessFactors Variable Pay instead of SAP SuccessFactors Incentive Management (IM). If this is the case, consider removing the tag for IM.

What do you need the number of days for ?

The standard Variable Pay proration in % calculated from the start date and end date of each record retrieved from EC will have the same impact on the Target Bonus than the number of days but you will only see that % and the prorated Target Bonus after you launch worksheets (it isn’t visible in the employee history data).

“Number of days” is something we can only calculate using assignment level custom fields and ALCF cannot be used in basis calculation, only standard background element columns can be used.

All the best

Hi Xavier,

The client is using No of Days as proration of basis amount. However the start date used is not based on assignment record but when an employee has joined the organization. Also they are considering LOP in proration as well. Hence this scenario is not fitting in the standard proration functionality. Any suggestions on how to configure basis amount in this situation?

"start date used is not based on assignment record". I am not sure I understand that part. Can you give examples with numbers for someone who has been with the company for 2 years and someone who just joined 3 months ago ?

For LOP integration you can use an MDF object that will have On Save rules with query into Time Off and give you the exact number of days in specific time types or with a specific attributes set to Yes for each employee. Then map this MDF to your background element and use it in the basis calculation.
