Validation

Hi SAP Gurus,

I have a situation regarding validation. So we have multiple GL account and for all the GL's we use functional area. So now we want to restrict GL as per functional area.

For example, GL 2000100 should use only functional area 1 and 3. 
when i am creating the validation in GGB0 my validation is working for all functional areas. The validation i made is:

Prerequisite

Co. Code=xxxx and GL=xxxx

Check

Functional area =1

Message

please use correct functional area.

When i am using this validation and trying to post the entry the same validation is working for other functional areas however it should only work for functional area 1 and for rest functional area system should allow the entry to pass. So i am unable to understand that in Check i have maintained only functional area 1 then how come i am getting same error message when i am using functional area 2,3,4 and 5.

Please advise where I went wrong.

Is your account classified as a cost/expense or revenue account to be able to assume a functional area?

Your validation is checking:

• IF the GL account / company code in the pre-requisite is in your document
• THEN FA must equal 1

So that if any other FA is used, you will get the error message you set up?

In summary, for validations, if the pre-requisite is met, and the check is NOT met, then you will get your message that you've set up.
