I am reviewing the PDF Upgrading SAP S/4HANA:Why, How, and Best Practices and noticed the recommendation to use SAP's Upgrade Roadmap, which has a very convenient download of a Microsoft Project plan. Our key stakeholders and project sponsor have agreed our S/4HANA upgrade will be a technical upgrade. How can I quickly filter the Microsoft Project plan to show only the tasks relevant for a technical upgrade?
Hi David,
thanks for your question. First of all, when you have opened the project plan in MS project, add the column "Flavors" and filter for "blank" and "Upgrade with Functional Enhancement". This will shorten the list massively.
Then compare the activities in bold black with the activities on the Roadmap picture for technical upgrade (ppt is in the download zip file where you found the project plans). There are some activities you can skip like Strategic Planning in the Discover phase, others are optional like integration design and product enhancements... if none of these activities is relevant for the customer's upgrade scenario, just hide the activities in the project plan, there is no additional filter.
Hope this helps!
Best Regards, Astrid
