Warning - Upgrading individual databases from v9.3 PL12 to v10 (1000.240.14) via the Setup Wizard

We were upgrading individual databases from v9.3 PL12 to v10 (1000.240.14) via the Setup Wizard.

Upgrade Wizard Precheck: Database structure check for SAP Business One indexes. When you run the SAP Business One upgrade wizard, during the upgrade precheck process, some manual changes to system indexes are detected. We are confirming the warning and upgrading the database, but we would like to understand why this is happening, since we haven't changed any table indexes. Looking at the log, we can see that most of the index mismatch tables are SAP table.

Hello Pipalia1,

SAP Note #2128874 - Upgrade Wizard Precheck: Database structure check for SAP Business One indexes explains the mechanism of the index checks during upgrade.

It should not give warnings because you didn't modify any table index.

One thing I'm suspecting is that you upgraded from v9.3 PL12 to v10 SP2402. The overview note of SP2402 https://me.sap.com/notes/3413880 asks the following path.

You can upgrade to SAP Business One 10.0 SP 2402 directly from the following versions:

  • SAP Business One 10.0 PL00-PL02
  • SAP Business One 10.0 FP 2008 - SP 2311

If you are running an SAP Business One 9.2 or 9.3 release version, we recommend that you first upgrade to SAP Business One 10.0 FP 2208 and then to 10.0 SP 2402.

the upgrade wizard of 10.0 SP2402 might not take v9.3 PL12 into consideration during upgrade, therefore regarded unexpected index deviation as user altered change.

Excellent, thank you kindly sir, will give this a try and see if the warnings are resolved.

Although we did see similar warnings when we upgraded SAP B1 9.3 PL12 to PL14, but we will try this recommended path from PL12 to v10 and I will create a new post if this is still an issue. Many thanks.
