Good morning,
I am specializing in Two-Tier ERP strategy and I have read a lot about it till now.
Though, I understand the benefits of such a strategy, I do not find anywhere insight about its limitations.
Examples:
- Is this suitable for all industries?
- How can we practically evaluate the cost reduction of such of solution (lower maintenance vs higher integration / different technologies in place...)
- Are there cases where we would know upfront that Two-Tier would not fit
--> what if a sales subsidiary needs to run Advanced ATP to see stock real time of its manufacturing headquarter?
--> Does that make sense to have Two-Tier ERP for a company that produces and sells within the same country?
--> ...
Except for the high-level arguments, I am struggling to find a way to advise a client if Two-Tier ERP would be a good fit according to their business processes and how they can concretely proceed to find it out? (I am thinking of using the business capabilities catalog)
To summarize I would like to translate the higher arguments into practical actions to drive the discussion on adopting a Two-Tier ERP strategy.
Thank you
