LTMC Templates - How to Populate them for mass uploads?

Hi All,

I have read several LTMC posts, and blogs. Been thru few pages of google hits. May be I missed it, or just didn't see it.

What we are looking for is what is the best way to mass populate LTMC templates? We have over a million Material Master records coming from ECC to S/4 1809 FPS02. We plan to use LTMC. MM LTMC and other templates we plan to use are quite detailed, and need data in certain formats. I would think SAP must have create a generic way to populate massive amount of data into these out of ECC. Custom ABAP is what first comes to my mind.. but is it really the only choice? What did I miss?

(Staging tables is another variable, but that too needs data pre-formatted to match the template).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks Sunil. I appreciate the Insights.

I agree that advance tools like SDS or SLT might be better suited. We are looking in to it. We don't have these, or other ETL tools currently at our disposal. (I hope SDL and/or SDS don't need additional licensing.)

Meanwhile, we will continue looking at ABAP to write out to LTMC XMLs.

I get that LTMC and LTMOM are quite advance and customizable tools. One feature I miss in here is ability to pick an extract file in simpler formats like Tab Delimited Texts files, and dynamic source-field--to-target-field assignments. If SAP can add this capability, like LSMWs currently do, it can improve usability of LTMC by 10 fold. (That's just my .02.)
