Calculating Revenue and Cost Outside Professional Services

Hi,

In SAP S/4 Hana public cloud Professional services, for a customer project, we are exploring the option of calculating revenue and cost outside SAP Professional services., Prof services will consume such Revenue and cost and continue with steps such as creation of billing items and Sales Order.

Revenue and cost will have multiple line items which has to be mapped to different GL Accounts / Cost objects based on different Revenue and Cost categories.

any suggestions / directions with Pros and Cons are really appreciated.

Curious about your requirement to calculated cost and revenue outside of Professional Services.

calculation with in system is very helpful and easy to check profitability accordingly so why you want to calculate outside.

Thanks for your response.

Current landscape has a rostering system which calculates the costs based on different awards configured in the system and billing engine calculates the Revenue based on price agreements.

Particularly for costs, for few accounts, calculations of costs based on these awards gets quite complex due the calculation of costs based on time of the efforts logged.

if I have to give simplest example,

for a Role T1- Supervisor, costs are calculated differently based on time of efforts logged.

1. Costs during efforts logged from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm

2. Costs during efforts logged from 5:00 Pm to 12 :00 am

3. Costs during efforts logged from 12:00 am to 6:00 am

The Total cost calculation also involves additional allowances based on the nature of the job performed and skill sets.

For such accounts, we are evaluating a phased approach in migrating to Professional services in public cloud S/4 Hana.

So, for such accounts, instead of reconfiguring the entire cost calculations in Professional services is there a way to calculate Costs and Revenue outside of professional services and still use professional services to create billing items and sales orders.

trying to evaluate what options are available in the public cloud environment.
