In S/4 Hana Cloud, public ed. no SCC1 App to transport CBC configuration between D100 and D080.

Hi,

In S/4 Hana Cloud, public ed. I can't find any SCC1 option to transport CBC configuration between D100 and D080. Duplicating manually the configuration from D100 to D080 is an option but it takes too much time.

We wanted to have a DEV Environment with no transactional data so that we could potentially reverse same configuration...and push CBC configuration to D080, and test there in D080...if ok, it would be pushed from D100 to Q100 to be tested by the client.

This is how we do it in on-prem implementations.

So, what is the best practice in S/4 Hana Cloud, public ed...no way to push from D100 to D080?

thank you

Hi Pedro,

The SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition is designed differently from the on-premise ECC. It has a Dev System, but divide into two tenants, Customizing Tenant (for customizing and key user extensibility purposes) and Development Tenant (for extensibility purpose). These two tenants are at the same level, so that they don't do transports between them. Transports are created for downstream systems, namely Test System (also called Test Tenant) and Production System/Tenant.

CBC works based on above design. One project connects to Dev Tenant and another to Customizing Tenant. They serve different purpose, and not identical. There should not be too much duplicated work in these two projects.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

George

Thank you for the reply. Should the implementation partner that is configuring the system do tests with transaction data in the DEV 100 tenant or it should only Test with transaction data in the TEST tenant (Quality tenant) ?

During the development phase, developers do tests in D100 as it has more transactional data. When you do next level test by a tester (not a developer), it is conducted in T100 before transporting the code to P100.
