AUTO BATCH PICKING DOUBTS

Hi

I had gone through multiple threads before posting.

Scenario: During GR, batch to be created automatically(Characteristic here is Expiry Date), And while issuing material through 201 the Batch which is nearing expiry date to be automatically picked first.

I have Created Characteristics (With Names : EXPIRY_DATE) and field as MCHA-VFDAT to create batch at GR.

It's getting populated after giving Production date.

Question-1: Which characteristic to be used to pick batch nearing expiry. I have searched MCHA, MCHB, MCH1. But couldn't find. Can you please let me know. I tried as below:

1a) In MM Batch management tick on(Purchasing & Plant view), MRP 2 Batch entry 3.

2a) Created 2 characteristics (Expiry date - MCHA-VFDAT & Remain- MARA-MHDRZ).

3a) Created class(Name: AUTO_TEST_1) and assigned above 2 characteristics to class.

4a) Assigned above class to material in MM.

5a) Batch Configuration -- Creation of new batches --- 201 -- Automatic/manual without check.

6a) Batch Configuration -- Created Selection class (Name: AUTO_TEST_2) with same characteristics of point-2a.

5a) Created sort rule with only one characteristic, Expiry date(Which is created in Point-2a)

5a) Strategy type(ME01) assigned to Batch procedure and in turn procedure assigned to Movement type 201 with check batch tick.

6a) Created batch condition(MBC1) and in selection criteria assigned class defined in step-6a and sort rule defined in step-5a.

7a) Now in MB1A and 201 combination, system is asking for Batch number to input manually.

Still Batch is not Picking automatically in MB1A. Please advice on my understanding.

As per some treads a filed named LOBM-RLZ isused, but to try it, system is throwing error, no Table LOBM found.

Question-2: After posting GR, Expiry date is getting populated in BMBC/In material document. But could not find values in MSC3N(Classification tab - Values). Am i missing any particular configuration?

If i Input * , it is picking batch.

But still unsure whether there is another way with out input *
