AI Engineering has become an integral part of our life in both Professionally and Personally. Not only it is helping us in our day to day life but also it is the future of Technology as we all know about it. I have learnt about AI engineering, the impact and importance of AI in our day to day lives and scope of future prospects. I have learnt about many topics like prompt engineering, fine tuning, lang chain algorithm, probabilistic and deterministic approach. I have got to know about different AI tools and their uses, ChatGPT3 and ChatGPT4 being among the popular used AI tools. I have learnt about the practical uses of the AI analysis and deterministic approach of AI.
Prompt engineering taught me how to provide the prompts to the AI and it will process and analyse the prompts and give us a definite solution. If I need to check like what is sap, I can easily get the definition and details of sap. If I need to find out what are the modules present in the sap, I can get the details like SAP ABAP, SAP MM, SAP FICO, etc.
Fine tuning taught me how to improve the performance of AI like faster computation, accurate results, and precise solutions. Basically, AI has become an integral part of our life which has definitely made our life and work both easier and approachable. Earlier, to get any information we had to think about how to follow the approach for the solution and result. But now with the extent of the AI tools, it has become very easy.
The lang chain is a major theoretical concept of AI. Lang chain is a type of framework which is basically an Open-source software which can develop applications based on large language models. By this we mean to say that it is generative type of concept. If I want to do any code analysis like analysing large codes having complex logic, at that time I can use the lang chain. Like if we are having a program of 5000 – 6000 lines, we can easily use the concept of lang chain model to find the solution like where is the error and how to resolve the error in the code logic.
Feature store is an important concept in AI engineering. It is mainly used to store the past data like the prompts and inputs which we provide to the ai interface. For example, if I have previously searched for vehicles, then this time before giving any prompt, it will display about the vehicles like cars and bikes to search for. Again, if I am selecting Cars, then I will get the names of the Brands like Mercedes Benz, Audi, BMW, etc. If I am selecting bikes, then it will show the options like Honda, Bajaj, Suzuki, etc. Basically, it will analyse the past data and generate new data based on history input given.
Model monitoring is a major topic in AI engineering. It mainly deals with deterministic approach and probabilistic approach. Deterministic approach mainly deals with the events which are destined to happen. In other words, we can say like these are certain to happen. For example, Sunday comes after Saturday. This is a deterministic event.
We cannot have Friday after Saturday. Likewise, whenever we are calculating or measuring the length and breadth of an object, it is already certain that its length is 10 cm or other. But this is not the same case with respect to the probabilistic approach. If I want to calculate distance between Bangalore and Chennai, it can be different for everyone depending on their perception.
One of the challenges I feel is that AI can lead to disruption of thinking power of people because people will not consider it necessary to think and analyse the code or concept, but they will instead login to ChatGPT and search for their required answers. In almost all the cases, people are indeed getting the generated answers which include the exact program logic which is required for a Developer to build an App. This in turn is hampering the thinking capability of an individual for problem solving and Root cause Analysis. Since, people are getting everything on ChatGPT, they are developing carefree attitude. This is surely going to affect the future generations in some way.
Another challenge is loss in future jobs as per the reports which we read daily in News and Blogs. The monotonous jobs in many sectors including IT industry which can be done by AI are being replaced by AI. This is certainly one of the reasons for many layoffs happening in the IT Industry due to Cost cutting and other factors.
There are Pros of using AI Engineering as well. AI can be used along with our work for our support as well which can certainly help us in some or the other way. We have also read in the news that AI can be used to upskill the present employees with Hands on Experience so that they can work on AI in present as well as Future. Hence, this is certainly going to create lakhs of new job opportunities for the future generation.
Basically, AI has become a part of our life and we must adapt it so that we are able to cope up with Working needs of the Future.
