3 month lot size

Hi all

We are currently looking into the set-up of the 3 month lot sizing.
For purchase proposals, the lot sizing is currently set up as:

- P: Period lot-sizing procedure
- M: Monthly lot size indicator
- Scheduling: requirements date = availability date
- No. of periods : 3

In the current MRP output (MRP run: 25th of March) , we are receiving purchase proposals for 01/08 (taking into account 45 days planned delivery time) and 01/09. Can someone run me through the MRP logic?

We were not expecting proposals 2 concurrent months.

My expectations were that we would have a planned receipt on M08/2024 that would also cover the requirements in M 09/2024
