Efficient and effective Technical Operations, i.e. running a system landscape like a factory, requires comprehensive system monitoring of managed system components. For SAP Business Planning and Consolidation, SAP Solution Manager can be used to implement monitoring and alerting (i.e. Run SAP like a Factory Event Management).

Content for SAP Solution Manager System Monitoring (Monitoring and Alert Infrastructure/MAI) for SAP Business Planning and Consolidation will be made available via MAI content update and documented via SAP Note 1952575 (to be released soon). Product versions SBOP Business Planning and Consolidation 7.5 and 10, for Microsoft and Netweaver, will be supported. Further information please find in SAP Note 1952575 and http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-50801.

SAP Solution Manager System Monitoring requires a so called managed system configuration procedure, which maintains the managed system (components) in SAP Solution Manager's landscape management database and configures basic functionality, i.e. connections to and troubleshooting for the managed system. For SAP Business Planning and Consolidation managed system configuration, please refer to SAP Note 1461749 and http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-14252.
