Founded in 1946, Ferrero Italia has grown into a 7.8 billion euro brand powerhouse comprising 38 subsidiaries with 22 production plants that use 1,000,000 tons of confectionary each year. To keep pace with high demand for its popular brands, such as Nutella and Kinder, one of its subsidiaries, Ferrero Germany, is using the SAP mobile business intelligence (BI) app to provide BI reporting on iDevices.
“We try to use the latest release of SAP, always,” said Gesa Fuchs who handles reporting for top management at Ferraro Germany. Fuchs said her company set out to only use pre-configured solutions, which they hoped would reduce complexity for the 500 iPads and 400 iPhones that required “reasonable useage within the BI area.” Fuchs said all of Ferrero’s SAP data occupies one SAP Business Warehouse system that serves 1,200 users and was used as the company’s “starting point for mobile.”
