Today thierry.audas provided this webcast “Guide to Analytical Capability Embedded within SAP Business Suite”.

Thierry indicated you use “Embedded Analytics” to “gain actionable insight”.

Figure 1: Source: SAP

Figure 1 shows why you need embedded analytics.  From BI, have 3 groups of users.  Executives make decisions.

The task workers are need information day to day, call center, need information to support operational needs, to see customer history, and need information “right now”.

Figure 2: Source SAP & Howard Dresner

Figure 2 is from Howard Dresner of BIWisdom.com

His recent survey shows that embedded BI is becoming a very important topic

I encourage you to check out the full survey "2013 Buyers' Guide Edition - Wisdom of Crowds ® Business Intelligence Market Study - Buyers' Guide Edition" at BIWisdom.com

Figure 3 shows before and have.  SAP customers have deployed ABAP reports; Thierry says these are fairly limited.

On the right have a modern user experience to give them access to best of breed solutions.

Figure 4: Source: SAP

Figure 4 shows you can obtain immediate access to pixel perfect Crystal Reports, Dashboards – embedded into Business Suite workspace

You do no need to switch to environments, it is relevant to business process and provides “Insight to action”

It can access ALV information; leverage ALV reports

SAP delivers “best practice business content”

Figure 7: Source: SAP

Figure 7 shows how you can change the view to Crystal Reports.

AFTER:

Figure 8: Source: SAP

Figure 8 shows Crystal Reports using ALV/KSB1 as a data source.  You can go beyond generic template shown above, showing the corporate logo

Figure 9: Source: SAP

Figure 9 shows key trend – access to more analytics real time.

Ehp6 has Operational Data Providers with hundreds of predefined queries to consume using BEx Query interface.  It has easy access to predefined queries

The next trend is HANA Live, with a “Set of predefined models, directly defined in HANA database/platform”.  It is able to consume content with predefined BI content

Figure 10: Source: SAP

Figure 10 shows what is coming with Analysis Workbooks, Explorer Information Spaces, and Lumira documents

Thierry said this is “Pervasive BI” to provide the same experience to all users
