BODS 4.0 provide a feature to collect Audit Statistics on DataFlows.  The different components of the DataFlow can be audited separately. For example if the Dataflow contains multiple sources, or multiple targets, each can be audited separately. Audit statistics can also be collected from Query or validation transforms contained within the Dataflow.

Right click the Dataflow to select the “Audit” option to enable the automatic Audit feature of BODS.

This opens the Audit Window where Audit Labels and Audit Rules can be created.

The Audit Statistics are created on the basis of predefined Audit functions. Different Audit Functions are available for different Data Objects.

Count – This is available for Tables and output schemas.

Sum/Average/Checksum- These are available at Column level.

An Audit function can be defined when you right click on the Data Object, and select the desired Audit function from the pop-up list. Once the Audit Function is selected by the developer, BODS automatically defines a corresponding Audit Label.

The values in the Audit Label can be viewed in the Job Trace. (You have to enable the “Trace Audit Data” option in Job Execution properties. This can be done if you click on the “Trace” tab of Job Execution properties, and select “Yes” for the “Trace Audit Data” option. This is “No” by default.)

Once the job is executed, the Audit Statistics are visible in the job trace.
