For a long time I have been talking about all the things that are possible in mobile app development when working with the SAP mobility platform. Now we have a new resource that gives you easier access to the technology and app development know-how that will shorten the learning curve and help speed up app development. This new resource is called the SAP Mobile Academy.
For anyone not familiar with the SAP academies, they are collections of videos, instruction, samples, and other resources that are invaluable to anyone working with those SAP technologies. Now there is a new SAP Mobile Academy that included these resources:
- Getting started with the SAP Mobile Platform and how to access the free 30 day trial of the mobile application development platform
- Overview of our Amazon web services development environment
- How to install the SAP Mobile Platform software development kit
- How-to videos and instruction on where to begin when building an app, creating database connections, using mobile business objects and object libraries, synchronizing, caching, data models for SAP business apps, and more.
- How to use hybrid web app container and build mobile apps using HTML5
- Information specific to developing apps for Android, Blackberry, iOS, and Windows
- Information about working with cross-platform application frameworks
Over time the SAP Mobile Academy will grow to include more tutorial videos and code samples, this is just the beginning!
Note that the SAP Mobile Academy is not just for app developers. It will include how-to information and resources for IT administrators and mobile project leads that help them optimize the adoption of SAP mobile solutions including SAP Afaria and SAP Mobile Platform. This will include information about common enterprise mobile management topics including administrative orientation, device provisioning, working with a self service portal, group administration, configuration policies, application policies and decommissioning, and other mobility management best practices.
