Day one of SAPPHIRE NOW and ASUG Annual Conference in Orlando is done and it’s time for a small wrap-up on the support related content and also time for a small outlook on tomorrow’s conference schedule.

The event was nicely kicked off by the ASUG keynotes featuring a very inspiring and touching speech of Lance Armstrong. After that the show floor opened which also meant that we’ve had the first customers arriving at the SAP Active Global Support Center (located at the Database & Technology Campus).

Keith Lamont from SAP AGS did the first presentation at our microforum booth (DT240). Approx. 20 attendees where interested in his overview on SAP’s support services. Keith basically covered all the key support plans like SAP Enterprise Support, SAP ActiveEmbedded, and SAP MaxAttention. But he also spent some time on SAP Solution Manager, the SAP Support Advisory Center, SAP’s Enhancement Package approach, and much more.

There were some additional microforum sessions with fewer participants but therefore those could be delivered in a more interactive way. For instance in Heike Laube’s presentation on the SAP Enterprise Support Academy and in Greg Pike’s snapshot on the new SAP ActiveEmbedded services there were quite a lot of questions from the audience and even after the sessions it led to some follow-up discussions with our presenters and the other SAP experts at the support booth.

Here are some pictures of Greg Pike (SVP, SAP Active Global Support) and Heike Laube (Head of SAP Enterprise Support Academy), taken during their microforum sessions:

Another highlight of today’s event was the education session on how to get started with application lifecycle management and SAP Solution Manager. This session also highlighted the new SAP Solution Manager Pulse Check which btw can be requested (at no costs!) via the following link:

If you are wondering which scenarios and functions in SAP Solution Manager are relevant for you then this service is definitely the right one! Around 80 customers attended above’s session which proves the huge interest in this topic.

If you stop at our SAP Active Global Support Center you can learn more about SAP Solution Manager and even do a live Pulse Check together with our experts that are onsite.

So what’s up tomorrow? If you missed today’s sessions on the SAP Enterprise Support Academy and SAP ActiveEmbedded then please note that these will also take place tomorrow at 1 pm and 5 pm respectively. There are also several other sessions at the SAP Active Global Support Center, e.g. on SAP Solution Manager. And please remember, this is not just a listen-only event. So please take the opportunity to actively join the discussions with our colleagues.
