In order to focus on driving innovation, value, and efficiency for our customers, SAP has revolutionized its delivery approach and shifted to a “demand-centric” approach – SAP Advanced Delivery Management.  The new delivery approach enhances and expands the existing Rapid Deployment Solutions philosophy and is based on an Assemble-to-Order implementation approach, which includes a lean assembly methodology (based on ASAP), pre-packaged implementation content and lean implementation technology (supported by SAP Solution Manager). The new approach uses the following delivery models based on customers’ project scope and implementation scenario:

  • Expert-based: Highly skilled consultant engaged for services such as Quality Assurance Review Session, Expertise on Demand Service, etc. to address specific one-time project needs.
  • Design-based: Strong reliance on detailed blueprinting to understand requirements, determine to-be business processes and implementation solutions. It then utilizes different productized services as accelerators to realize the solutions with a mix of onsite and remote resources.
  • Assembled-to-order: Combining Rapid Deployment Solutions (RDSs) and other services to meet defined functional needs. Projects leverage delivered standard templates, e.g. ready-to-use business blueprint and test cases, preconfigured best practice processes and other supporting documents to minimize project implementation time and effort.
  • Industrialized: Executing individual packaged services with fixed scope and fixed price, such as RDSs, Technical Upgrade Services and Business ByDesign implementations, etc. A remote delivery approach is prevalent here.

SAP is committed to lead the industry transformation with its new delivery approach – SAP Advanced Delivery Management, by continuing to engineer common services and RDSs to provide even more options to be combined and applied to new projects. We invite you to be part of this revolutionary process and accelerate your projects and time-to-value in a dramatic way while reducing the services-to software ratio.
