How your ABAP List Viewer can be a source for Crystal Reports

How would like to go from an ABAP List Viewer (ALV) report to a Crystal Report?

Figure 1 shows an ALV report and the same data displayed on the right as a Crystal Report inside your ECC system.  You can do it, as long as you are on Enhancement Package 5 (ECC 6.0) with some configuration and downloading a viewer.

Configuration:

Go to transaction SPRO:

IMG > SAP NetWeaver > Application Server > SAP List Viewer > Maintain SAP GUI Specific Settings

In Figure 2, select checkbox to Allow Crystal Reports and then SAVE.

Download the Crystal Viewer mentioned in SAP Note 1353044 to your desktop and install.  You need to be on SAPGui 7.1 or higher.

Then, run your favorite ALV report and select Views -> Crystal Reports as shown in Figure 3.

Your ALV report is now a Data Source to Crystal Reports, inside your ERP system.
