The HR2102 conference will be in Las Vegas from March 12th to the 16th and it is regularly considered the premier event for SAP HCM professionals, consultants and customers. There are more than 250 in-depth educational sessions, ask the expert workshops, customer workshops, networking events and live demos by SAP. They are conducted by some of the smartest and most well respected individuals and customers in the industry. Unfortunately due to client commitments I will be unable to attend this year but I would highly recommend the event. If you are still on the fence I thought I would outline the top five reasons to go the SAP HR2012 conference and the great news it is not too late to register.

Keynote Speeches – The keynote speech will be given by Sanjay Poonen who is the President and Corporate Officer of SAP on “Winning through Innovation in Finance, HR, Risk and Compliance”. It will explore how SAP’s innovation strategy spanning analytics, applications, database and technology, mobility and cloud computing is enabling core business functions to change the game, empowering employees to make better decisions, execute business processes flawlessly and effectively drive sustainable growth. The general assembly will have Jason Averbook who is CEO, Knowledge Infusion talking about “HR’s Changing: Are You Ready?” It will examine the business, workforce and technology changes poised to have the greatest impact on HR within the next three years. David Ludlow who is Group Vice President of SAP HCM will present the 2012 SAP HCM solution roadmap, highlight critical new solution updates, and preview the upcoming SAP innovations that support these changes, including those from SAP’s recent acquisition of SuccessFactors. It is a great group of speakers; they will be covering some important topics, and will be a perfect way to kick off the event.

Sessions – There will be over 250 sessions that cover core areas such as Payroll, Talent Management and Nakisa, ESS/MSS, Performance Management, Enterprise Compensation Management, Succession planning, Recruiting, Mobility, Training and e-learning, Time management, Reporting, Benefits, Organizational Management, Personnel Administration, Project Management, SuccessFactors and even access to Financials 2012 and GRC 2012 as all three events are hosted together. There is truly something for everyone and if you have any doubts try using the schedule/agenda builder as you will quickly get a sense of how difficult it is to choose amongst all the excellent content.

SuccessFactors – It is impressive that the HR 2012 conference producers were able to line up three SuccessFactors presentations on such short notice as well as a hands-on lab that drills down into SuccessFactors functionality. The sessions include Align your Workforce Strategy with your Business Goals using Strategic Workforce Planning, See how to Leverage the Cloud-based Talent Management Capabilities of SuccessFactors and An Introduction to Talent Management by SuccessFactors. Given the recently announced SAP and SuccessFactors Roadmap Analysis by SAP it is easy to predict that these sessions will be extremely popular.

Networking –One of the under rated parts of any SAP event and something I outlined in my Valuable Lessons to Make the Most of your SAP Career is networking. The HR2012 event is a great opportunity to network with peers and meet new people. The who’s who of the SAP HCM industry will be at this event looking to swap war stories and business cards, connect on Linkedin and Twitter and share information as well as discuss the sessions from each day. It is very easy to network with like minded people that share a similar passion for SAP and something that can really benefit your career in the longer term.

Las Vegas – If you are still on the fence about HR2012 remember that this is being held in Las Vegas which is a great city for conferences. Las Vegas is always a perfect spot to mix business and pleasure especially at the end of a long day of learning.

Hopefully I have outlined why you should attend the HR2012 conference and the conference producers have thought of everything as they even have a Convince your Boss template that you can use to help get budget approval. If you are an SAP HCM professional this is one event that you won’t want to miss.
