NetApp integration with SAP Landscape Management

NetApp® Storage Services Connector (SSC) enables storage provisioning for SAP Landscape Management (LaMa). NetApp SSC is an implementation of the interface between LaMa and NetApp Storage Controllers. NetApp SSC enables LaMa to create space-efficient clones of SAP systems that are configured in LaMa.

The Technical Report “Integrating NetApp ONTAP Systems with SAP Landscape Management” (TR-4018) [find it on NetApp's web page] provides IT administrators and operational staff with information on the integration of NetApp shared storage with SAP Landscape Management. Its detailed examples will help to streamline the implementation and reduce risks.

SSC v4.0 is supported with

• Clustered Data ONTAP® 8.2 and higher.


• Cloud Volumes ONTAP


• SAP LaMa 3.0 SP3 or higher.


• SAP systems using NFS attached NetApp storage

 

SSC v3.0 Is supported with

• Clustered Data ONTAP® 8.2 and higher.


• Cloud Volumes ONTAP


• SAP LaMa 3.0 SP2 or below.


• SAP systems using NFS attached NetApp storage

System Requirements & Installation

Installing SSC v4.0 requires a server with:

• Java runtime environment™ (JRE™) version 7 Patch 21 or higher.


• 1 GB of free hard disk space.


• 256 MB available RAM.

SSC v4.0 can be installed on the following Linux platforms:

• SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11, 12 and 15


• SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications 11, 12 and 15


• Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, 7.x and 8
