I wrote this blog when I started
getting my hands dirty with development -   Is Sybase an opportunity for SAP CRM on-premise Developers? . Few months down the line, I
created few MBOs, learnt about Hybrid container Vs Native Container - deployed
some of the functionalities to blackberry emulator. Those were the days when I had windows 32 bit
machine. For some reason, we had to upgrade our machines to 64 bit and this is
where a new challenge presented itself! My JCo connection stopped working -
both from Sybase Unwired WorkSpace and Blackberry Emulator.

 After a long fight -

I have got it working - yet again! I thought of sharing my 32 Vs 64 fight, with all the fighters to make it easier to win! For

every other purpose, this Developing Mobile Applications with Sybase Unwired Platform (1/3) by

Pierre Dominique, written way back in 2010 works as a charm to have

installation and connectivity in place. Here we go!From the outset, it looked like it’s going to be smooth

sail, and it probably would be for someone who has experience working with JCo,

but I have mixed feelings with what I have achieved. On one hand it gave me a

fair idea of how things work and what kind of errors could one expect with

different versions of windows/gui/connectors and on other hand it would have

saved a lot of time had I got it to working with just the replacement of 64 bit

files (sapjco3-NTAMD64-3.0.7). Let’s hope something else doesn’t break and I

get to write blogs on actual App/Workflow deployment work!  Way to go !</p>
