With all the blogs being published around TechED I will share to you how I am experiencing TechED Las Vegas as a speaker (PMC 235: TechED 2010 session PMC235 - Petrobras: SAP NetWeaver Portal as an Application Portal).

To participate in a TechED you have to travel to TechED. In my case, this means travelling from Rio de Janeiro (Sunday) to Las Vegas (Monday). This route means for me to board an AA flight from GIG to MIA. The plane only offered a head-mounted analog TV, no personal entertainment set. You can imagine the irony: travelling to an event where the next 10 years of SAP technology will get discussed on a plane that uses >20 years old technology. At least no tweet from me how awesome it is to have Wi-Fi while flying. My waiting time at MIA was 3:30h, but the plane had to get switched. After this delay (same entertainment system, only change: no meal included. Personal note to myself: try to not fly again with AA) I arrived at Las Vegas and was able to get to my hotel. Well, I had to wait 45 Minutes to get a taxi, but after I was able to get my TechED badge and speaker shirt: it was worth all the effort. As a speaker you gain access to a speaker preparation room. As there are only TechED speakers in this room you can feel the energy. I also tried to contact Laure from the SCN team, but without luck. The time left of the day I spent preparing my lecture.

Ok, it's Vegas: I walked down the Strip and entered every casino / hotel available.
