Attention please: this is the only session during which the use of smartphone cameras is recommended, not to record the speaker but to scan strange symbols.

At SAP TechEd 2010 in Berlin, SAP Mentor Initiative have organized session CD119 - Introducing QR Codes in Your SAP System to speed-up the adoption of QR Codes within Business Processes managed by SAP applications.

I'm very happy that a couple of months ago, my proposal was voted by fellow SAP Mentors and that I'll host it in Berlin. If you're interested but going to another TechEd, note that you'll still have the opportunity to talk about this technology with other super SAP Mentors like Durairaj Athavan Raja in Bangalore and Thomas Jung in Las Vegas.

I also recommend to attend to all the other cool 8 sessions offered by SAP Mentors in Berlin and Las Vegas.

I want to anticipate that QR Code is an Open technology supported by a lot of powerful Open Source software that makes possible its adoption without any hardware or software cost.

As you can see in the session details here, it is for QR Code beginners. We will review the basic concepts about the technology itself and the typical business cases. Then we'll enter into the SAP world going through some of the different available options to generate the image to be printed or published into web pages.  Finally we'll also speak about how to build the "Landing pages".

This session could be interesting also to people involved with Data Matrix codes that are basically very similar to QR Codes.
