           This part of blog series will brief you about the steps to transport your archiving configuration from one environment to another. This will also brief you about the settings for archiving messages with S/MIME security settings.

A) Transporting Archive Configuration:

           We know that to archive interfaces in the Integration Server, the interfaces have to be defined for archiving via transaction SXMB_ADM -> "Define Interfaces for Archiving and Retention Periods".  Once the Interface is added for archiving an entry is made in the table SXMSARCITF2 for that interface as shown below:

Where, ARCHGUID -> Unique ID for each Interface

            IFNS          -> Interface namespace

            IFNAME     -> Name of interface

            Type         -> Type of interface (Inbound/output)

            Action       -> Action for Interface

When we transport the archive configuration all the entries from the table SXMSARCITF2 are transported.

To export Archiving configuration, go to SXMB_ADM -> "Define Interfaces for Archiving and Retention Periods".

In menu options, go to Interface --> Transport entries

At this point, you will be prompted for customizing request (create one if you don't have one already)

Here we have generated the transport request number as PI2K900039.

Check the request number PI2K900039 transaction SE10.

As you can see in screenshot below that all the entries from table SXMSARCITF2 are included in transport resquest.

The first 3 characters represents the client of the PI system and the rest of the character represents the ARCHGUID.

Release the request using the menu option Request/Task --> Release --> Directly.

Once released import the objects in the defined target system.

In this way once can transport the archive configuration from one system to another rather than configuring them again in target system.

B.  Archiving messages with S/MIME security settings:

Following are the settings for archiving messages with S/MIME security settings:

Go to Runtime Workbench à Component Monitoring à Adapter Engine.

Choose Security Archiving on the Status tab page as shown in screenshot below.

The default value for the start time is a date and time in the future as shown in screenshot below.

You can set the start time and time interval for the archiving session. If there is a large amount of data then set number of parallel archiving sessions, in a separate window.

Enter the required value and choose Update Archiving Settings. This determines the time for the next archiving session and displays it in the Next Archiving Session field as shown below

        Archiving sessions with errors are listed and can be sorted by particular criteria. You can select and retry archiving sessions. The number of lines displayed informs you whether an archiving session has been successful. If the number of lines stays the same after you have repeated the function call, then errors occurred in the archiving session. If the number of lines is smaller, the archiving session was successful.
