I am pleased to announce that we are currently writing SAP's second BPM book titled "Applying Real-World BPM in an SAP Environment". Just like the previous book I am collaborating with different authors such as Prof. Dr. Mark von Rosing, James Taylor, Greg Chase and Ruks Omar.

Many have been asking me why a second book so soon, as my first book still is very relevant. The first book was focused on understanding BPM as a management discipline and governance framework.
This book is focused on how to apply BPM within the context of an SAP environment where you need to take into consideration both SAP Best Practice, Own Practice and Best Insight. It is about managing your business processes wisely to stay ahead of your competitors. Which means understanding which processes are high-value and how they are linked to your company's business model.
The book will be your guide to implement BPM in all its aspects in your SAP-centric business and IT environments. It explains how BPM and standard software work together, how to prepare your company for the project, and how to put technology, methodology, governance and the philosophy behind it in action. Most importantly it will contain a comprehensive compilation of use cases from early adopters.
To give you a sneak preview to the final content we will be sharing information with you in frequently published blogs, wiki content and Sapphire/ASUG presentations in Orlando, Frankfurt and Online. We will start with 5 blogs in a series that will cover the updated ASAP methodology for implementation in respect to value delivery, BPM, SOA, BPM technology and skills enablement.
So when can you obtain a copy of the second BPM book? The content is currently being written and will be finalized in March and will be available end of June 2010.
