About the session - Enterprise Integration patterns for SAP PI (Process Integration)
This session will help you understand the concept of patterns and their usage in SAP NetWeaver Process Integration (SAP NetWeaver PI) 7.1. A pattern describes a solution to a specific design problem. Like a template, the approach to solving the problem can be used again and again. The approach that constitutes a pattern is based on best practices and has already been proofed in a real-life implementation. Starting from a problem to solution and use case description, we will demonstrate how a pattern is implemented in practice covering design-time, configuration-time, and finally runtime. Twelve common patterns address different levels of complexity (e.g. filtering, mapping, routing, or enrichment of messages). Approaches for canonical data models or interactions of global and local SAP NetWeaver PI instances are topics for advanced patterns. The foundation in every SAP NetWeaver PI projects builds the software component strategy. Let’s see what the process-oriented component strategy offers.
Speaker - Rene de Daniel
Rene de Daniel has been working since 2003 as an SAP NetWeaver XI consultant on several international SAP NetWeaver XI and SAP NetWeaver PI projects. At BP in London, an SAP NetWeaver PI 7.1 ramp-up customer, he participated in the buildup of an Integration Competence Center. His focus areas are: definition of corporate SAP NetWeaver XI/PI architectures, naming conventions, definition of implementation approaches, and especially enterprise integration patterns. In June 2008 he published, together with his co-author Hermann Steinrötter, the book "Enterprise Integration Patterns for SAP NetWeaver PI" (English version published in November 2008). Rene works for Syngenta as an Enterprise Architect.
