Community Day is a day which is full of excitement, opportunity to communicate face to face and knowing the known members (knowing the known refers to the members we know by name, face, email communication or telephonic conversation).

Community Day 2007 was my first community day, which I had the opportunity to attend. I had ensured to travel back from my US assignment, just a week prior to this great event. On my way to Community Day, I was just thinking about how will I spend the day? I thought I did not know any one there.

On reaching the venue, it was a great welcome organized by community. It was the most comfort feeling and all questions floating in my mind were at peace. I started feeling at home the very moment I reached there.

I could see known faces and known names, which I got the opportunity to meet the first time. The credit of making the environment was friendly goes to the organizing team. To name a few Gali, Marilyn Pratt, Craig, Mark and others were always around to ensure that everyone is comfortable. I also met the known names from forum such as Ayub Khan, Sheshagiri, Lakshmipathi and many others.

The BOF were great sessions to attend. The opportunity to meet members from different areas also added to our community circle and knowledge. It was great to receive reward and certificate from Mark, towards the contribution in the Forum. Not to miss, Mark had an excellent brainstorming session on how to further improve the community, which I really would like to complement that the suggestions were heard and acted upon.

This event is not only about growing network, increasing knowledge, but the organizer ensure that an excellent Breakfast, lunch, Tea with snacks as well as fabulous Dinner is available to all the members attending this event.

This is the opportunity I cannot think of skipping. I have placed my leave request well in advance to be present at Community Day at Bangalore on 11th Nov, 2008.
