One area you might not have noticed that we simplified and streamlined is the Database Expert. This is a very commonly used dialog, and occurs in Step 1 of the New Report Wizard. The CR 2008 Database Expert now only has 2 nodes - "My Connections" and "Create New Connection". The system will automatically add connections to the "My Connections" list as you create new connections, and as you open new reports.
So now the simple act of opening a new report will populate the "My Connections" list, making it easier for you to reuse existing connections!
Also, we've streamlined the list of existing connections, and put more frequently used data sources in the primary list, and less frequently used data sources in the "More Data Sources" category.
Finally, simple name changes complete the improvements. For example, "XML" is now more accurately described as the "XML and Web Services" driver.

What do you think of the improved Database Expert? Do you have any suggestions on how to make it better?
