The hot topics of interest were SAP CRM 2007, the new UI and the announcement of CRM on blackberry... and there was a lot of excitement around all three of the topics.

The CRM sessions of Day 1 in Orlando were kicked off with a CRM keynote by Jujhar Singh, SVP of CRM product and strategy. The key focus of his presentation was the new SAP CRM 2007 release which is now generally available after end of ramp-up - a couple of months earlier than scheduled - with over 300 ramp-up customers. Jujhar briefly talked about the momentum of SAP CRM in the market and the BPX community as well (CRM homepage hits in Q1 more than tripled). As a special guest, Mike Burianek from Eclipse Aviation, joined Jujhar on stage, and talked about their SAP CRM 2007 project and go-live after 8 weeks. Eclipse Aviation was the first customer that went live with SAP CRM 2007. Read Eclipse Aviation goes live with SAP CRM 2007 on BPX about this project and their experience with the new user interface.

Jujhar then spend most of the time with demonstrating the concept of “simple and powerful” using three scenarios to showcase ease of use of SAP CRM 2007 while solving real business problems. The demos also included new interactive dashboards embedded in the business processes and user task flows leveraging business objects technologies. In case you have not yet seen the new UI check out the demo video clips on BPX.

  • Ease of Use: A sales scenario with personalization, drag & drop, account and opportunity management.
  • Making the complex simple: Co-Marketing with Marketing Development Funds (MDF) showcasing funs checkbook and interactive dashboard to monitor funds and simulate funds distribution.

  • Solving real business problems: End-to-end customer service in a call center with intent-driven interaction and real-time offer management.

He also talked about BPX and the success we have had so far since the launch of CRM @ BPX 5 months ago. In separate sessions we also announced two new CRM forums on BPX for Interaction Center and Web Channel. See also the announcement and links on the CRM homepage on BPX at

At the end of the CRM keynote there was a demo of the new CRM on Blackberry.
