"Awakening & engaging collective intelligence through conversations about questions that matter"

That's the tagline of an inventive and inspiring website:  The World Café" ,  and a declaration that resonates very well with those who envision the purpose of a Community clubhouse at TechEd to be the "unvirtual" celebration arena of our generally virtual  community experiences.  The clubhouse hosts four Knowledge Tables that correspond to "communities of innovation".  These tables invite conversation, discourse, brainstorming, debate, collaboration, cooperation, and informal knowledge transfer around many and diverse topics.  You can preview these using the Community Clubhouse Schedule Widget '07 that Abesh Bhattacharjee, a community member, helped implement, based on a matrix of events that craig.cmehil/blog invented to schedule or track some of the community-driven sessions.  The clubhouse is the stage to showcase community innovation,  You can meet and interact with some of the most articulate, creative and productive stars of the SAP Developer Network, meet the Demo Jammers, exchange quips, ideas, code, solutions, pain points with peers, drink good coffee and be entertained by the showmanship and prowess of your quiz host and Second Life guide, Craig Cmehil.  You can participate in the Geek and Suit Shootout on Tuesday at 4:00PM in the clubhouse and maybe catch some insights into how developers really think and why and how BPX types (either developers or business analysts) can help translate business requirements into technical specs in a way that succeeds.

And back again to conversations at the knowledge tables, yet another serendipitous outcome of having muralist Nancy Marguiles create with us and for us the Community MindSpace: as she happens to be one of the authors of the World Cafe.

These are the operating principles of the World Café (we would do well to emulate them in our conversations during TechEd clubhouse hours):

  • Create Hospitable Space
  • Explore Questions that Matter
  • Encourage Everyone to Contribute
  • Connect Diverse People and Ideas
  • Listen Together for Insights, Patterns, and Deeper Questions
  • Make Collective Knowledge Visible

There will be quite an array of topics being discussed formally and informally in the clubhouse.

Abesh's widget will be a cool way of keeping you informed of exactly what conversations are set to evolve or could evolve at the BPX knowledge Table, the SDN knowledge table, Second Life , Community Clubhouse Theater.  So stay tuned and engage.  Bring your ideas to Nancy and help creating a truly vibrant Community Mindspace.
