Believe it or not, one of the Community Day (formerly known as SDN Day) influences is Burning Man, the art festival happening every year in the Nevada desert, where 30 to 40 thousand people come together for a week.

I participated in 1997 and again in 2000. I learned how to juggle pins back then, which was a lot of fun.

One of the principles that the event is founded on is participation, or what other's have termed:  No Spectators. If you go there, you bring something to share with the community.

Some even say they where the first 2.0 community aka you do all the work and we keep the money 😉

John F. Kennedy please excuse the twisting of your words: Don't ask what the Community Day can do for you. Ask what you can do for the Community Day.

You can host a BOF session, as Thomas Jung is doing this year again in Las Vegas as well as Munich.

They say that public speaking is feard more than death, so I understand that for many the prospect of moderating a Bird of a Feather session is not very appealing. Not everyone has to moderate one, but as a participant be active and do your little part to make each session that you go to a success.

It is the difference of leaning back and consume like watching TV or a Movie and leaning forward and participate by asking questions or sharing an experience.

We have a very special BOF session in Las Vegas this year. Ran Cliff the master of our platform team is going to come out of his shell and talk about:

Sweet. You don't even get that in the general TechEd program.
