This new page offers information about SAP’s NetWeaver Composition Environment (SAP NW CE). The following picture shows the transition from CAF on NW2004s to SAP NW CE. It makes clear that the CAF components are not disappeared but are part of SAP NW CE.

It leverages the SAP NetWeaver platform by simplifying the integration of heterogeneous environments and legacy systems into user-centric applications.
SAP NetWeaver CE builds upon proven technologies that have been enhanced and integrated to provide greater functionality and flexibility. Among them are the Service Registry for service publication and consumption, Guided Procedures for process modeling, Visual Composer for UI modeling, CAF Core and EJB 3.0 for Java Business Object modeling and service abstraction. The synergy of the combined functionality makes it easier for developers and business process experts to collaborate and to accelerate business process innovation.
