So it's over, the EMEA SAP TechEd is now complete and I must say "WOW" what a show! Lots of contributors on hand and lots of cool things happening around Scripting Languages. In fact Matt Kent from RadRails finished up a Ruby on Rails contest posted by Gregor Wolf while there. Funny part is - before the event started he had no clue what SAP was other than a large ERP software company. During the event you could find him with a SAP Gui loaded on his screen and checking out ABAP functions and BAPI's.

Certainly a lot of other activities were taking place, managed to get some Podcasting in there as well not all the ones I wanted to do, so I'll try and get them done in the next couple of weeks. Oliver Kohl managed to make his podcasting debut and as soon as I send him all 300+ megs of audio that he recorded he should be getting those up and online.

A lot of networking was taking place and a lot of activity from the SAP side into the Open Source worlds and quite a bit of talk around the Office 2.0 space as well, this is not the SAP you know from years ago.

James from RedMonk was there and we got to hang out quite a bit and had a great time, also meet David Terrar, Sigurd Rinde and Prashanth Rai from the bloggers corner all of whom have written several cool things already on the event and things happening at SAP. I did not get a chance to meet Dennis Howlett but I am hoping to email with him - he's already active on SDN and commenting in the blogs so I want to be sure to get some feedback from him. There were actually a few others there as well I did not get a chance to meet so perhaps next time.

I invited Prashanth Rai to the SDN Day in Bangalore, it's not going to be a huge event just by invitation only and limited to 100 people but it should prove to be interesting and having Prashanth there will be quite nice, I spent time with him during the event this week and he had some interesting ideas and thoughts.

Kartik and Ravi where there as well and it's always great to see them again, I'll be seeing them in a few weeks in Bangalore for the last of this years' TechEd events which will also be an end to the biggest chunk of my traveling for the year.

Looking forward to it!
