Planning to attend TechEd ’06 in Las Vegas (September 12-15), Amsterdam (October 18-20), or Bangalore (November 8-10)? Consider signing up for BIM254: Seamless Integration of SAP NetWeaver BI and Excel with the SAP Business Explorer Analyzer.

This session supports the Enterprise Reporting, Query and Analysis IT scenario of SAP NetWeaver. It is a 2-hour intermediate-level hands-on session. It will focus on the new features of the BEx Analyzer tool: enhancements to the analysis mode, the new design mode, and the new “convert to formulas” option, which allows you to take advantage of Excel formatting and formulas.

Analysis mode – See the new visualization and how drag and drop provides intuitive navigation for end users.

Design mode – Learn how the new design mode enables the building of BI applications. This function is similar to that provided by the BEx Web Application Designer and allows the developer to add analysis grids and various navigation items (e.g., drop down box, check box, radio button, navigation pane, etc.) to develop a complex application.

Excel formatting and formulas – Understand how this feature to converts BI results in a workbook to formulas. This allows the user to freely move results cells around within the workbook, apply additional Excel formulas and macros on these results, and create highly formatted workbooks using Excel features, while still retaining the link to the database.
