Web Dynpro 24 Day Calendar

The 24 Day Calendar, commonly known as an advent calendar, is part of an old European tradition that is intended to make the long anticipatory wait for Christmas presents pass by more quickly, both for children and adults. A typical advent calendar has a door for each day up to Christmas, each of which hides a small gift, such as a piece of chocolate.
Instead of chocolate, our Web Dynpro advent calendar offers not only a wealth of helpful and amusing information about Web Dynpro, but also some surprises for those of you who simply want to find out what an advent calendar is, including:
  • Games
  • Information about new and popular Web Dynpro features
  • Helpful links
  • AND: Prize drawings!

On three of the days (we will not reveal which days!), you will have a chance to win one of the following books:

  • Inside Web Dynpro for Java - The unique book on SAPs new Java-based user interface (UI) technology teaches readers how to leverage the full power of Web Dynpro, by Chris Whealy;
  • Java Programming with the SAP Web Application Server – This book offers a systematic approach to concepts, architecture, and components of the Web AS, by Karl Kessler, Peter Tillert and Panayot Dobrikov.

Not only does the calendar offer you information about Web Dynpro – the calendar itself is built with Web Dynpro and showcases the following features:

  • Dynamic view generation

    (why create 91 input fields when there is the wonderful invention of the FOR-loop?)

  • Using external Web services
  • Using internal Web service
  • Attractive and easy-to-use layouts
Web Dynpro is designed for building User Interfaces for complex business applications – but it is also ideal for building calendar applications such as this one!

Let yourself in for a real surprise with Web Dynpro! Please check out calendar from December 1st - 24th.
