The Universal Worklist is where you receive your alerts and work items. Polling all those backend systems to find the items and caching the results for instant display is an awesome feat.
In the SAP NetWeaver Support Package Stack 04 this has been improved so that the polling is role-based. Let's face it, there's no point polling a CRM sales-response component on behalf of an employee in HR admin.
This improvement won't be noticable to the portal user who already has good response times thanks to the UWL caching, but it sure reduces the CPU load on your precious servers.
