Today is the second day of SAP TechEd 2022. For this occasion, we want to continue our series of blog posts on different mobile personas for our mobile entry point to the Intelligent Enterprise, SAP Mobile Start. One of the first mobile personas we introduced was the Finance Manager. Building upon the finance manager, we want to continue with the Treasury Manager as another integral part of the finance functions of your enterprise. This blog post will give you an overview of the key features of SAP Mobile Start for the Treasury Manager.

The Treasury Manager as a Mobile Persona

The Treasury Manager aims to mitigate financial risks of the company, ensure and optimize the liquidity and managing all kinds of investments of the company. To reach these goals, the Treasury Manager needs to have all relevant information available such as internal financial data and real time market data, e.g. currency rates. Especially in turbulent times when unprecedented and unforeseen events may occur, it is crucial for the Treasury Manager to keep the overview of the corporate´s financials. Moreover, the Treasury Manager needs to be able to react quickly, make decisions in real time and communicate with internal and external stakeholders smoothly and well-informed. Even though the Treasury Manager might work primarily in an office environment, there are still several mobile occasion, where mobile devices are a natural companion. Visiting subsidiaries, travelling to bank or customer meetings or working from home or any other places are only a few examples where the Treasury Manager benefits from modern mobile business applications.

Introducing SAP Mobile Start

SAP Mobile Start is the new native entry point to the Intelligent Enterprise on mobile devices. It provides users with an enhanced mobile access to SAP applications, web content, data, and news feeds to quickly address their daily work – anywhere and anytime.

Users can benefit from persona-tailored content, which will be easy to consume and optimized for mobile situations. SAP Mobile Start can be set up and configured to user needs by IT administrators. It allows users to stay up to date on mobile devices and act immediately on critical business situations. The app offers integration with business applications, enabling higher productivity, and is a key asset to help ensure business continuity directly from mobile devices.

Furthermore, SAP Mobile Start offers a deep integration with native mobile device capabilities such as widgets, notifications or spotlight search.

Improving the Mobile Experience for the Treasury Manager

SAP Mobile Start as the native entry point to SAP allows the Treasury Manager to access all relevant tasks, information, and updates quickly.

Keeping an overview of the most important Key Performance Indicators on a mobile dashboard has never been easier to do on a mobile device. Approving different requests such as payments through the integrated SAP Task Center in SAP mobile Start will become a routine in the everyday work of the Treasury Manager – totally independent of the location.

To ensure that the Treasury Manager never misses important updates or alerts, the native push notifications will help to draw the attention to exactly those events that the Treasury Manager needs to be aware of.

Furthermore, the easy integration of third-party content such as news feeds or market data will make SAP Mobile Start the central place for the Treasury Manager to find all needed information on the mobile device.

Integration of SAP Task Center

With Task Center integration in SAP Mobile Start the user will have access to all workflow tasks in one screen. Tasks can be processed with just one click and now the user no longer need to install numerous Inboxes from various applications. This will reduce the time spent by approvers and improve the approval time for critical items. By providing a dedicated screen to access the tasks and notifications, the user has one place to easily process all their “to-do”s.

My colleague Ivan Chaushev describes all details regarding SAP Task Center in his blog post.
