SAP Analytics Cloud is a single solution for business intelligence (BI), augmented and predictive analytics, and enterprise planning with the power of artificial intelligence and machine learning technology. It helps everyone in your organization make fast, confident decisions.

This blog post introduces the features of the SAP Analytics Cloud 2022.03 release available for SAP Analytics Cloud FastTrack customers. For SAP Analytics Cloud Quarterly Release Cycle (QRC) customers, this release and its features will be available as part of the QRC Q2 2022 release. View the QRC release schedule here.

Release Highlights

General

Lithuanian Language Support

Lithuanian is now supported in SAP Analytics Cloud user interface elements such as menus, buttons, and messages.

Enterprise Planning

Improved Hierarchy Section in Calendar

The calendar hierarchy section has been improved to handle processes with many direct child events. When a process with 7 or more direct child events is created or edited, only the first 5 will be displayed in the Hierarchy section. The complete list of direct child events can be accessed in the link to a dialog below the first 5 child events. Through the dialog, users can search for events, change the status of all individual child events, or navigate to a respective child event’s details.

Additional Task Wizard Features

The calendar wizard has been enhanced to ease the creation of planning processes in one go, without the need to create a process first. Users can now choose to create a parent process and generate its child events in one go, or use an existing process as a parent.

If an existing process is used, its values are automatically prefilled in the wizard. In addition to the member specific filters that are applied to each child event’s work file, it is possible to add common filters that apply to the work files of all generated events, as well as add a description.

Users can also easily view or hide child event hierarchies in the preview table with the addition of the expand/collapse button.

Copy and Paste Underlying Values Across Measures with Different Currencies

The new model now supports copying and pasting values, including underlying values, across multiple measures with different currencies.

It is still possible to copy and paste the overall value only via Paste Special (CNTRL + SHIFT + V).

Smart Predict

Forecasting Scenarios now Include the Simple Exponential Smoothing (SES) Method

Time series forecasting scenarios now include the simple exponential smoothing (SES) method to avoid complex models and to make forecasting models more robust. Shorter time series and detected intermittent series will systematically use SES.  Like the Double and Triple Exponential Smoothing techniques, SES does not take influencers into account.

Check out the Forecasting Intermittent Time Series with Automated Predictive (APL) blog post by marc.daniau to learn more.

Analytics Designer

Advanced Customization Options for Tab Strips

Application designers now have more options in adjusting and formatting tab strips for a more visually attractive appearance. Application designers can now set the background color of the selected tab, width, and color of the tab’s bottom border, and padding of all tabs via CSS.

Data Exploration

Open Data Analyzer via Modeler

Users can now open Data Analyzer from the modeler. Model creators will be able to explore a data model after its creation to validate data in the Data Analyzer and create content once the data is validated.

Microsoft Office Integration

Single Table Refresh

Users can now choose to refresh selective, or an individual table as opposed to all tables in a workbook. This enables users to refresh certain tables while continuing to update another table.

Member Selector: Option to Select Only Leaf Members

Additional flexibility has been added to make it easier and quicker to select on specific members. In addition to the existing options (e.g., descendants only, self only, etc.), users can now select only the leaf member of a particular node, simplifying the steps for adding data at the lowest level of a hierarchy of a dimension.
