You Asked, We Delivered - New Service Added to SFCE Extended Demo Accounts

It's important to us at SAP to interact directly with our customers and to take your requests/feedback seriously. Over the past few months we have heard from various community members the desire to test the SAP HANA Cloud Platform OData Provisioning (HCP ODP) service against their SAP Fiori, cloud edition extended demo account, and a guided process to connect their SAP Fiori, cloud edition extended demo account to an on premise back end system. It brings me great joy to announce that not only have we heard your requests but we have been working behind the scenes and today are able to deliver both requests to you!

The HCP ODP service is available in everyone's SAP Fiori, cloud edition extended demo account and can be accessed as follows:

• Access the HCP Cockpit for your SAP Fiori, cloud edition extended demo account
• Choose Services > Category: Integration > OData Provisioning Demo

         

• Select the service and choose Enable

         

I have created a video series on a productive SAP Fiori, cloud edition account to get you started with HCP ODP. The service is named differently in a productive account (OData Provisioning) but otherwise functions the same. While it has been technically possible to connect your SFCE extended demo account to a back-end system it was never formalized into a guided procedure delivered by SAP, like the theme designer or Web IDE tools. The connecting to your back-end functionality remains a feature of the extended demo edition that will not be supported by SAP in terms of technical issues or guided support.
