Devtoberfest from SAP is an open celebration of what makes us developers: coding and collaboration. If you have developers on your team who have not registered yet, read on to learn why they should attend.

A free 6-weeks virtual event run by developers, for developers, Devtoberfest starts on October 1 and wraps up just in time for SAP TechEd. Join the global SAP Developer Community to come together and learn, get hands-on experience, gain insights on trending topics, and have some fun.

Of course, there are many reasons to attend Devtoberfest. Here are the top 3:

  1. Upskilling: Keep your skills fresh, and your career on trackYour recent work experience may not predict the skills you will need in the future. Devtoberfest helps you stay on top of emerging trends by offering the chance to learn directly from SAP experts and industry guests. Sessions offer best practices for all aspects of developer roles, delivered by people who can roll up their sleeves and show you how things work.Topics include best practices for application development (coding, design, testing), cloud-native in the SAP world, security, data and analytics, and front-end tools and technologies.

  1. Have some fun: Coding challenges, game night, and Dogtoberfest DayNetworking, one of the most valuable parts of Devtoberfest, starts with a little fun. Meet your peers virtually at Dogtoberfest Day by sharing photos of your canine co-workers (cats also welcome!).  Show up for game night and challenge your peers in your favorite game. Take part in coding challenges to experiment, learn, and get recognized. Meet your favorite authors and exchange ideas.Participate in different activities, earn points to win badges and prizes, and connect with new people.

  1. Engage and learn from great speakers: SAP product experts and guest speakersSAP product experts and renowned industry guest speakers will deliver lectures, panel discussions and Q&A sessions. Some of our guest speakers include James Governor, Analyst and co-founder of RedMonk, who will talk about best practices in the cloud-native space; Cédric Hebert, currently leading Active Defense research, who will talk about hackers and security; and Alan Simon, Managing Principal of Thinking Helmet, Inc., who will share insights into the modern enterprise data landscape. When the dialogue inspires you to know more, you can access self-paced learning materials to continue learning on your own.

Register now for Devtoberfest and get ready to enjoy 6-weeks of learning before SAP TechEd. Hope to see you there.
