In this blog, we'd like to introduce you to one of  the things that is new or has been changed in the August 2015 version of SAP Business ByDesign.

Of course, you can find more information in the What's New in SAP Business ByDesign documentation, which is available online or as a pdf.

Today, we're going to talk about Service order with reference to Customer Contract.

You can now reference a contract in a service order. When an item is created, you can specify the relevant contract.

1.    Go to Service Orders work center > Service Order Processing view

2.     Click New, then choose Service Order to open the New Service Order quick activity.

3.     Under Services and Spare Parts, in the Contract Item column, you can give a reference to the relevant contract by entering the Contract Item ID.

If you cannot see Contract Item column, you have to add it by personalizing your screen. To do so, click Adapt >  Enter Adaptation Mode. In adaptation mode, Go to this screen. Click on Adapt > Edit Screen. Under “Fields”, select “Contract Item”. Publish your changes.
