Dear Fiori Launchpad Users,
Fiori Launchpad on HANA Cloud Platform provides theme customization capabilities.
You can build your custom theme using the theme designer (For information about UI theme designer, see UI Theme Designer.) and then manage those themes by perform one of the following actions:
- Add to the list themes created in UI theme designer Adding a Theme
- Assign a different theme to the current launchpad site and its apps Assigning a Theme to a Launchpad Site
- Enable one or more themes for user selection in runtime Enabling a Theme for User Selection

Recently, I got some questions around the following 2 topics, so I decided to publish the below FAQs:
Why can't I access the theme designer from Fiori Configuration Cockpit?
To access UI theme designer, your account must be subscribed to an HTML5 application named theme designer from a provider account named
themedesigner. If you need to create a new subscription, themedesigner appears as a subscription candidate. For more information, see

Why I see blank page?
Theme designer on HANA Cloud Platform was released with some limitation, which would be solved sometime in the future. As a result, there could be some issues while updating the UI5 version of the Fiori Launchpad. For example, by 1st June, Fiori Launchpad on HAHA Cloud Platform UI5 version was switched from 1.26 to 1.28. Some FLP customers, who used to have custom theme, complained about broken theme or empty launchpad. This is a temp solution to overcome this limitation, and make your FLP work again:
1) Upload the zip file to the theme designer
In case your theme is broken, use the theme designer to upload the zip file again -
The imported theme should be uploaded from desktop (soon we plan to allow exporting theme using the theme manager)
2) Export the theme from the theme designer
Then export the file again. While exporting this file, there is another compilation process which is running again and aligned with the updated UI5 version.
(to export the file click on the "theme" menu in the top > export )
3) Update the outdated theme with the new version of the zip using "Theme Manager" service
Afterwards, go back to the Fiori Configuration Cockpit and select the "Assign Site Theme" tile.
To update a theme with a new theme file, open the select the theme and choose Edit. The only step is to upload the new updated zip file.
Don;t forget to save your changes and clear the browser cache.
