Crowds of SAPPHIRE NOW attendees flooded the keynote area this morning, filling up seats and forming standing crowds to listen to SAP CEO Bill McDermott deliver the opening keynote. What an amazing start! The keynote highlighted the significance for companies to make the transition to digital and what the roadmap to simple looks like. There was an overall focus the importance of digitizing data platforms & core operations seamlessly. Following the keynote, a live press conference, theater sessions, demo stations and a large show floor came to life. Conversations were flowing around SAP HANA, S/4HANA, Analytics, Mobile and so much more. Here are key session highlights:
SAP S/4HANA was a hot topic area on the show floor with full house sessions like at the Define your Road to SAP S/4HANA session. During this session, attendees had the opportunity to learn more about the details of S/4HANA, important facts, like how your primary data does not change even with implementation of S/4HANA. Most importantly, we got to see the 3 steps on the road to S/4HANA.
Analytics topic explored use cases, benefits, and challenges businesses face when implementing predictive analytics in their organization. For example, in an SAP Lumira session, it showcased how data can now be visualized by end users in format which is easy to consume. With the addition of Lumira to the BI platform, project leaders can now share data “stories” through the BI server which other users can view and edit if needed.
As Bill mentioned in his keynote that we should always put our customers first, our customers as well as partners had the opportunity to share their experiences with SAP HANA and Analytics today. Check it out:
AmerisourceBergen showed us how they simplified their data warehousing with SAP BW powered by SAP HANA by sharing a comparison of metrics of query execution improvements since their implementation as well as their best practices & lessons learned.
Mohawk Flooring showcased how they are exploring predictive maintenance to be proactive against machine failures. Sensors are used throughout the dying of the carpet all the way to the rolling process in order to find correlations between production settings and quality issues.
