SS1733: Learning Beyond the Classroom Training Initiative – How We Educate and Engage our Workforce

>>  Featuring the 2015 SAP Education Best Practice Award Winner, Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation <<

Wednesday, May 6 | 4:15 – 5:15 pm

The Enterprise Transformation Solutions team has developed a Learning Strategy to address the following challenges: 1. Create a Sustainable and Scalable training solution. 2. Provide SAP Knowledge Transfer between HCL Consultants and Gulfstream ERP functional team members. Solution 1: With each Go-Live, additional employees require initial SAP training, plus sustaining training for New Hires. Phase 1 and 2 initial training could be supported via traditional ILT classes. However, subsequent end users requiring training exceeded room availability and access to our traditional CBTs was limited by hardware restraints. Our Alternative Learning Technologies and Programs team created a mobile-friendly training delivery solution that is both sustainable and scalable. Elements include: Virtual Classrooms, OJT by Power Users, and tablet-friendly “ePubs.” Solution 2: Functional Core Team members require additional technical SAP training to reduce dependency on our HCL Consultants and build Gulfstream’s SAP bench strength. All core team members are currently working a Knowledge Transfer Plan that requires them to:

- Work with their consultant to assess their knowledge gap, develop skills to close the gap, and eventually replace their consultant

- Leverage available training on the SAP Learning Hub
